KUKA acquires Visual Components and defines the next level in intelligent automation
FocalSpec, the Finnish expert in high-precision quality control devices, will launch their first 3D imaging and metrology system UULA at MEDICA Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. UULA can be used both in at-line quality control and in laboratories. It works especially well in measuring 3D topography and dimensions in medical device manufacturing as well as studying seal integrity of medical packages.
A preview of the virtual system that enables to discover the potential of the industry's most advanced research laboratory was presented at Pack Expo. An experience that will be repeated in the new Georgia headquarters.
Encoders from SICK monitor and secure motion sequences and ensure precise and efficient processes. They will detect the exact speed, revolution, path, or angle of a movement and deliver the result to the process control or the Cloud in data that can be used for further calculations.
Clearly-displayed information enables production managers to make informed decisions and resolve issues quickly. By connecting sensors, machines and users and by combining vast amounts of production and quality data within seconds, the EPROMI (Enterprise PROduction Management Intelligence) solution offers complete information with the degree of transparency required. Inspection results and the relevant process parameters are displayed in customer-specific cockpits and support operational and strategic decision-making processes.
In January 2015, Fraunhofer IPA presented a prototype of the “Care-O-bot® 4” service robot. The charming helper is now proving its worth in the real world. “Paul” the robot has been greeting customer in Saturn-Markt Ingolstadt since the end of October 2016 and directing them towards their desired products.
The toothed belt axes in the HM-B series from HIWIN which have now won the iF DESIGN AWARD are extremely stylish, powerful and adaptable.
The production of lines for braking systems, air conditioning units and similar devices with a length of 1500 mm and tiny diameters of as little as 18 mm represents a real challenge when it comes to bending technology, specifically with regard to handling. After all, to be economical, production processes also need to be swift. And precision and quality are factors that are just as important.
HIWIN provides a new generation of toothed belt axes (HM-B) and spindle axes (HM-S). Their characteristics: Extremely high manufacturing quality, performance density and precision, combined with a successful design, which has already won the prestigious iF Design Award.
Okuma introduces their high-precision application SERVONAVI as part of their line of Intelligent Technology features. Available on almost all of the manufacturer’s machining centres, lathes and multitasking machines, the application is able to increase surface quality, reduce production time and to undo the effects of wear and tear in older machines.
Production flexibility, cost-efficiency and sustainability both in regard to products and production processes are focal points during the construction of lightweight bodies for motor vehicles. Innovative laser joining technologies are almost predestined for this task since they can be used to produce highly durable lightweight structures cost-effectively.
